When Jane is out collecting driftwood she sees a lot of plastic that gets washed up on our shores. This has been the inspiration behind her gorilla. The gorilla has been covered with plastic collected from the beach. One half has been painted to look like a normal gorilla and the other half left with the plastic exposed. A shoal of Jane’s ceramic fish swim around the gorilla. Where they swim over the plastic, the fish look dull and colourless, where there is no plastic they are bright and colourful. This gorilla symbolises the damage being done to our marine life as a result of plastic pollution.
