Amy Bourbon is a Fine Artist specialising in painting and drawing. She has been awarded a PhD from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design and her Doctoral work involved research relating to the disciplines of Painting and Acousmatic Music. Her painting practice involves large-scale oil paintings inspired by the places that she has encountered and loved. These influences are predominantly Jersey in the Channel Islands and Grand Cayman in the Caribbean and more recently an artist residency in Poole, UK. Amy’s artworks reflect her understanding of paint and it’s potential for manipulation on a canvas surface. She uses layering techniques to develop depth on her canvases, giving the impression of space alongside intricate detail.
