The 40 life-size gorilla sculptures have been sponsored by local companies and designed by artists from Jersey, the UK and beyond. In addition, there are 45 small gorillas decorated by artists, schools and community groups, making Go Wild Gorillas the Channel Islands’ largest, mass-participation art event.
By bringing artists, businesses, schools and communities together, Go Wild Gorillas aims to showcase our island community and its international links.
Artists’ designs will attract people to discover the wonderful world of conservation through the visual arts. Ultimately, it launches a significant fundraiser for the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and our gorilla build.
After their time in the sun, our silverback gorillas will be sold at our Grand Gorilla Auction in the autumn to raise vital funds for the new home for our gorillas at Jersey Zoo.
Your support will help build a new gorilla home for our beloved gorillas at Jersey Zoo. The remarkable work achieved by Durrell both at the zoo and in the wild to save threatened species from extinction has only been possible due to the generosity of our supporters.
