Young Gorilla

Peter Abungu

School: St Peter's School

Our gorilla is inspired by… the loss of the gorilla’s natural habitat due to deforestation.

Our sculpture has been designed and painted by Year 1 pupils. Half of our gorilla is covered with a lush tropical forest, the other half depicts a habitat destroyed by deforestation. The name Peter is to represent our school and Abungu means ‘of the forest’.
