Brighter Futures

Brighter Futures is a unique local charity that supports parents, families and young people in Jersey.

We work with approximately 150 families every week, some once a week, others up to 5 times a week, dependent on their level of need.

We work alongside the main carer to support them with:

  • Parent-child relationships
  • Mental health & Wellbeing
  • Education and personal development

We work in partnership with clients to encourage them to make a difference to their future though choices they make for themselves and their families. We support the carer with their child’s development & learning, helping them to recognise their role as a child’s first & foremost educator.

Examples of the range of issues affecting the families could be anything from:

  • Stress, anxiety, depression, mental health issues
  • Post-natal depression
  • Family relationships
  • Social-Isolation
  • Substance misuse
  • Financial difficulties

The impact on a family associated with any of these experiences can be significant.

Every client is allocated a keyworker who will support them with their journey to wellbeing, alongside the group and courses.

These are repeated throughout the year with creche facilities if required, this is all free of charge to the clients.
